Frequently Asked Questions

Why should I work with you?

I am 100% committed to making sure your speech is a massive success. I don’t want it to be fine, I want it to be amazing; one of your favourite moments from the day. I will keep working at it until you feel completely happy and with me, you not only gain someone who has the ability to help you find the perfect words for your speech, but also a trained actor, who knows how to deliver a moving and funny speech to impress the guests.

How does the speechwriting process work?

We will have a 45 minute to 1 hour Zoom call, in which, we will discuss your speech, so I can get to know you and your voice. This conversation will focus on a set of questions; specially designed to generate material for your speech, which will be emailed over to you in advance. After that, I’ll send you over the first draft, which you can offer your feedback on; parts you are and aren’t happy with. We will then go back and forth with the redrafting and feedback process until you are completely happy with your speech.

How does the coaching process work?

We will have a 1 hour Zoom session where you will deliver your speech at the start and the end of the call. Within this hour, I will work on areas that I think will improve your confidence and delivery such as tone, breathing, flow, body language and overcoming nerves. By the end of the session, you should have the techniques you need to deliver your speech confidently and have fun doing it.

How long will it take to write my speech?

I aim to have your speech with you within 3-5 days. In emergencies, I should be able to do this quicker, please let me know if you need your speech at short notice.

How much is it?

The bespoke wedding speech service is £300 / $365 / €350. This includes the consultation call, the writing of the speech and unlimited redrafting. The speech delivery coaching service is £100 / $120 / €115. This includes a 1 hour Zoom session, with me, to work on your delivery including tone, breathing, body language and overcoming nerves.

How do I pay ?

You pay via bank transfer or for international customers, PayPal. For a bespoke wedding speech, payment is not required until after the free consultation call, but must be made prior to the receival of the first draft. For a speech delivery coaching session, payment is required prior to the session.

What if I'm not satisfied with my speech?

My promise to you is that I will not stop working on your speech until you are not only satisfied with your speech, but love it. If you're not happy, I’m not happy, so any changes that you want can be made.

Can you do more than one speech per wedding?

Yes, I can work on one speech or all the speeches for the wedding. I will ensure all the speeches highlight the different personalities and viewpoints of those giving them.

Can you write a speech on short notice?

Yes, I feel passionately that everyone should go in feeling as confident as possible. The more notice the better, but if it’s short notice, get in touch and I will do my very best to get you the best speech possible.

What information do you need to write a speech?

I need to know all about you and the happy couple. The more personal a speech is, the better it is. The magic ingredient to an unforgettable speech is you, so the more ‘you’ in this speech, the more of a success it’ll be.

What types of speech do you write?

I write speeches for anyone who is making a speech at a wedding. Whether that be the groom, bride, father, mother, best man, bridesmaid, or anyone else lucky enough to be asked to give a speech, I am here to help.

Is our work together confidential?

Completely. I believe that preparation is the key to doing anything well in life, and as such, using a wedding speech writer or delivery coach is preparing brilliantly. However, I am aware some clients would prefer to keep it quiet and I completely respect that. My role is to get the best out of you, it’ll be your speech not mine; I’m just here to help you make it the best it can possibly be.
